Reneal Teams in action [2020-03-12]

The Reneal Teams in both the Philippines and Tanzania have been very busy in 2020 so far.  Computer Technicians Lloyd Tuñacao and Ervin Formentera of Reneal Team Philippines have been making maintenance visits to all of the schools in Cebu for the past weeks.  Meanwhile in Tanzania, our partners from Habari Node and Arusha Node Marie joined Reneal Computer Technician Robert Nyangaka for some major upgrades at Mukulat Secondary School and Matim Primary School.

Lloyd and Ervin’s work at each school is focused on making sure the computer lab is running at full capacity.  During their visits they check the server to see that it is functioning properly, and they make repairs to client computers.  They have become very talented at troubleshooting and fixing problems!  We are grateful for Lloyd and Ervin’s leadership and energy in keeping the Reneal computer labs running in Cebu.

Reneal partners Habari Node and Arusha Node Marie did their usual professional work at Mukulat SS and Matim PS.  The original computer lab at Mukulat was installed back in 2013.  The Ethernet cable we had at that time was fairly poor quality, so it’s a relief to finally get that replaced with good D-Link Cat6 cable.  The work at Matim PS was in support of the US NGO “A is for Africa”.  AIFA built a computer lab for the Matim PS students, and they have been gradually adding more computers each year.  Thus the Team’s work this time was to install a second network switch in the computer lab and add some additional cables to connect some newly arrived computers to the server.

We are very thankful for our Teams (Lloyd Tuñacao and Ervin Formentera in the Philippines; David Nyangaka, Robert Nyangaka, and Erick Mneney in Tanzania) as well as our partners (Habari Node, Arusha Node Marie, and the Arusha District Council and Arusha Region Offices).  We couldn’t do it without these dedicated professionals!
