Reneal Team Tanzania in Action [2023-07-14]

In my last blog post, the boxes for 2023 Phase 1 were just embarking on the long trip to Tanzania.  I’m happy to report that nine of the ten new computer labs have been installed already by Reneal Team Tanzania – and this in spite of the June school break!  Thanks to the efforts of Reneal Country David Nyangaka, the schools did their preparations well in advance of the start of installation work.  We are so grateful for the cooperation of school and government officials for these efforts!  And of course, a huge THANK YOU to Apto Solutions (www.aptosolutions.com) for the generous donation of laptops to make this work possible!

In mid-May, Reneal had a very exciting first.  While in Dodoma with the Reneal Team to install the new computer lab at Bihawana Secondary School, David attended the Tanzania Digital Project conference and was invited to brief Tanzania President Samia Hassan about Reneal’s work.  He gave a demonstration of the Reneal system to President Hassan, and the 5 minute briefing stretched to 15 minutes.  We are grateful for the interest and support of the Tanzania government for Reneal’s work.

We are also excited to report that one of the new Phase 1 schools is a joint project with Terrwatu (www.terrawatu.org), an NGO working in Tanzania with a diverse range of projects.  Boris Sululu, Terrawatu’s IT coordinator, joined with Reneal Team Tanzania at the installation at Moshono Secondary School.  Reneal is very pleased to partner with Terrawatu, and we look forward to future joint projects!

David is well along in his work to evaluate and select schools for the 2023 Phase 2 projects.  It is a big task to identify and evaluate candidate schools and then to assist the selected schools with preparing a computer room.  At Reneal US headquarters, Neal has already acquired the server hardware for the Phase 2 projects.  A million thanks to our major donors Apto Solutions and Network the World, along with many individual donors who make Reneal’s work possible!
