Printing the list [2014-12-19]

We are now less than three weeks away from our departure to the Philippines to begin our 2015 projects.  Just this morning I printed out our packing list.  The longest section of the list is devoted to the Reneal “green bag” that holds tools, extra cables, screws, connectors, clamps, and other miscellaneous gear needed to install a computer lab.  Thankfully all of the computer equipment has either been shipped already or will be purchased there in Cebu, so we do not have to face the traveling challenges of Tanzania with ten pieces of checked luggage!

We have worked out a general schedule with our intern Jade for the installations at the five schools in our 2015 project plan.  It is fairly ambitious, and we are happy that we have two 2-month visits in Cebu to accomplish everything.  We also hope to scout for and install a lab at a sixth school, thanks to the Ft. Collins computer donation.

We are also in the process of wrapping up the corporate books for 2014, with a Reneal IEO finance committee meeting scheduled for January 4th.  Release of the 2014 annual report should follow soon thereafter.  Then we’ll be on our way to Cebu to kick off 2015!
