One more week [2019-08-15]

It’s always a shock to find ourselves a week away from a big Reneal work trip, in this case to Tanzania.  We started dreaming about this trip last October while still in Arusha, and that vision has carried us through these past months.  We’ve had ups and downs wondering if everything would come together.  And now suddenly here we are, packing and finalizing the schedule and working the last-minute details with Reneal School Liasion David Nyangaka.  It is very reassuring to have our plans in David’s capable hands.

Thanks to lots of help from Katherine Yen, Marcus Lee, Melinda Downey, and Janet Sjulin, fifteen of the nineteen boxes of equipment are filled and taped well ahead of schedule.  We are still doing testing on the new MacBook workstation/server system, but those will get packed soon too.  The packing is always a challenge, so it was wonderful to have all of the enthusiastic help!

Back in the Cebu, Reneal Team Philippines (Lloyd Tuñacao, Rhog Sampan, and Ervin Formentera) had a very busy and successful trip to northern Cebu.  We are so grateful to the teachers at Daanbantayan National High School for hosting the guys overnight.  It is a long bus ride to the north, and SO much easier if the work can be spread over two days.  We know how busy the teachers are, and we are all the more grateful for their wonderful hospitality.  Reneal Team Philippines has now visited almost all of the schools to help them get the school year started with the Reneal systems in good repair.

The next post will likely be from Arusha!
