Last few days [2019-10-12]

This last week was busy, traveling to five different schools.  We made visits to three of our 2018 computer lab installations: Kimnyaki Secondary School, Kiranyi Secondary School, and Sokon II Secondary School.  Thursday we were at Mringa Secondary School, one of our 2015 installations.  Friday found us back at Olturumet Secondary School to orient all teachers on their new Reneal system.  And Friday night was the annual Team Celebration with our partners from Habari Node and Arusha Node Marie.  It was a whirlwind, and we are so grateful to the schools and to Reneal School Liaison David Nyangaka for helping us get to each school.

I would like to acknowledge the members of our Team this year who made Reneal’s work possible.  I am especially happy to note that several of the people listed below from Habari Node are field students doing their on-the-job training.  For most of them, this was their first hands-on experience.  What a great win-win for them and for Reneal, to have the skilled professionals of Habari Node showing them the ropes!

Habari Node: Erik Rowberg, Jane Langoi, Elibariki Melami, Prosister John, Rocky Gerwin Ndigonje, Sebastian Kyagara, Freddy Mawenya, Siraaj Abdulkadir, Joshua Danel Mollel, Bruno Noah, Gilman Antony, Aisha-a Kiende, Michael Sarga Girgis, Enock Mgonga, James Nyiti, Anastazia Eliakim, and Esther Sumary

Arusha Node Marie: Evance Kessy

Reneal IEO: David Nyangaka, Robert Nyangaka

It is really a miracle to see empty tables and a pile of boxes turn into a computer lab in the space of a few hours.  THANK YOU Habari Node, Arusha Node Marie, and our very own Reneal Team members!  Now it is up to the schools to share these computers with their students for learning with and about ICT.

As noted last week, we are already planning for 2020.  Please drop us a line if you know of a potential source of laptops that can have a new life in schools in Tanzania.  You can reach Reneal at contact.reneal@gmail.com.  Donations are fully tax-deductible.
