The Hundredth Blog [2015-04-22]

My counting might be off, but this is roughly the hundredth blog post I’ve written since the Reneal IEO website came on line.  Reneal IEO celebrated its third corporate birthday just ten days ago!  A lot has happened in those three years: our mission has become more focused, and we’ve grown from just two Returned Peace Corps Volunteers to an operation with key team members here in the US, in the Philippines, and in Tanzania.  Twenty-one schools now have a Reneal IEO low-cost computer system installed, with four more to be added in Tanzania this coming October!

We at Reneal IEO hope in the coming years that we can continue providing computers to students in developing countries.  As educator David Warlick noted, “We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.”  Technology opens doors for young people around the world, and it is especially breath-taking to see the quantum leap in possibility and opportunity experienced by students in the Philippines and Tanzania when they are exposed to IT.  We are thankful to our donors and team members, past, present, and future, who make this all possible!
