A flurry of activity [2019-08-06]

Since the last blog post, Reneal Team Philippines (Lloyd Tuñacao, Rhog Sampan, and Ervin Formentera) has carried on with an active schedule of school visits in Cebu.  Tomorrow the Team is on its way to northern Cebu to visit five of the schools with Reneal systems up there.  We are so grateful to have these energetic and skilled guys keeping the Reneal systems running in the Philippines!  And in Arusha, Reneal School Liaison David Nyangaka has us well-positioned for a successful start to Reneal’s 2019 projects in Tanzania.

Neal has also been making great progress here at Reneal HQ.  Three of the servers have software loaded and are boxed up and ready for final packing.  He has also made huge strides with the software for the Mac-based Reneal system, a new development that we’ll field at two pilot schools this year.

David and I have been working together to get the Arusha purchases coordinated.  Reneal is able to buy uninterruptible power supplies, voltage stabilizers, power strips, and Ethernet cable locally.  We have worked with Arusha vendors Powerelectronics, MCL/Khanbhai, and Lupenet for several years now and are grateful for the partnership of these companies.

David has also been visiting the new schools in Arusha District to make sure they are prepared for installation when we arrive.  He sent photos of the new computer rooms at Enoti Secondary School and Bangata Secondary School, and they are close to completion.

Last week, Neal, Lloyd, and Sir Louie Romano at Cebu Technological University in Carmen were able to work together with Messenger to get the Cisco Packet Tracer software installed on the server at CTU-Carmen.  We are excited for this new capability for the students there!
