Low Cost Computing

These documents are examples of the past work by the founders of Reneal IEO while in the U.S. Peace Corps to create low cost computer sites for education.  The low cost computer system continues to be refined and improved.

The first document details the creation of the first major site at Compostela High School, Compostela, Cebu, Philippines. This is not only the history of the project but is also a manual about creating similar sites. Note especially the photo documentary at the end of the document.

Computer Infrastructure For Schools

The second document is a presentation about the low cost computer system design and specifications.

Computer Infrastructure Project Briefing

The latest version of the Reneal IEO system administration manual is here.  This is a guide for the school computer teachers responsible for maintaining the system.
