#7! [2015-07-30]

Since Monday we’ve been communicating regularly with our intern Jade as he’s been working on the seventh and final 2015 Cebu installation for Reneal IEO, this one at Medellin Science and Technology High School.  Medellin S&T is in northern Cebu, and their IT lab was badly damaged during Typhoon Haiyan (known locally as Yolanda) in November of 2013.  We are so pleased to continue our support to the schools that were victims of Yolanda’s wrath.

It was the first time that Neal and I have been in America during a full system install.  In spite of a few interesting glitches, Jade completed the job quickly and successfully.  The teachers had their orientation training on Thursday as planned, and Jade said they are already scrambling to reserve the lab for their classes!  We are so excited to have Medellin S&T join us as our 15th partner school in Cebu!

Meanwhile, back here in California, Neal has been building servers day and night.  As of last evening, he had finished seven of the nine that he’s preparing.  By the end of August, we expect to be finished with testing and will start getting everything packed up for their destinations of either Arusha or Cebu.

My major effort this week has been preparing for the roll-out of our very first major fund-raising campaign, to be focused on resources for our 2016 Cebu projects.  Watch for “Obsolescence to Opportunity in the Philippines”, coming soon on Indiegogo!
